A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...
Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve been photographing weddings for over fourteen years now in New England and beyond. I am also an interdisciplinary artist (photography, sculpture and needlepoint mostly) and I've gotten to show my work all over New England, Canada, NYC, IL, NJ, TX, and FL. I earned my Bachelors in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and have since earned my Masters of Fine Art from Maine College of Art. In my mind, there's nothing better than spending a day gallery-hopping or getting lost in an art museum. I think that my background in the arts gives me a unique perspective while photographing, and I truly do view each wedding or family session as a unique artwork.
While I love photographing the quiet, beautiful moments during a wedding/elopement/engagement session and grabbing some gorgeous portraits for you, those ridiculous candid moments (like when a stranger offers you a fry on the boardwalk during your bridesmaid photos-see below!) truly make your day uniquely yours-and you better believe that I'll be there to photograph it!
I can’t wait to chat with you!

FAQ
1. What are your rates?
The most popular packages are outlined right here on my website under “Investment.” I do offer a la carte options (such a the addition of a second photographer, additional hours, albums,etc.). I can also specifically cater a package to your needs. Just email me with your special requests or needs and I will get back to you with a quote ASAP.
2. We’re eloping, and only need a photographer for a few hours. Can you help us?
Of course! Just email me with a brief rundown of your event, location and needs and I will be sure to whip up a quote especially designed for you.
3. When will our images be ready to view?
With most weddings, I am able to get your online album to you within one week, and your USB with custom case should arrive at your door within 2-3 weeks. I hate getting behind in editing, and I’m as eager to see the finished product as you are, so I really do my best to stick to a very quick turnaround time.
4. Why do you transfer some images to black and white?
I most definitely PREFER to give you color images, but there are a few reasons why I may choose to transfer an image to black and white instead:
-Backlighting. A backlit image will make the color turn a bit murky, and as I'm a fan of clean, vivid color, and this image will not "fit" the aesthetic of the other images, I will turn an image to BW.
-Mixed lighting sources. If strange (and unflattering) color shifts occur due to mixed lighting (artificial, natural, fluorescent), I will turn an image to BW.
-Exit signs. Exit signs are a necessity in most venues, but there's nothing beautiful about a glowing red sign. Sometimes avoiding exit signs or other such eyesores are impossible (during your first dance, for example), so I may need to turn some images to black and white to maintain the beauty of your image.
-Aunt Jane with a neon green dress. We love Aunt Jane, we do, but if there are people or objects in the background of a photograph that really visually clash with your carefully thought-out color scheme, I will go ahead and turn that image to black and white.
-Very rarely, I will turn an image to black and white for purely artistic reasons, and if I do, I will provide a very similar image in color for you as well. :)
5. Should I add a second photographer?
Nine out of ten weddings are booked without a second photographer. The only times that I will suggest adding a second photographer are if the wedding is large-scale and you want to ensure there are plenty of candids of your guests, or if you really desire photographs to be taken of both you and your fiancé preparing before the wedding and the locations are not nearby each other. Otherwise, I usually prefer working on my own.
6. Do you travel?
Yes, and I LOVE TO travel! My regular rates, plus travel (flight, etc.) will apply, but I DO love a good adventure!
7. Should we do an engagement session?
I cannot suggest doing an engagement session enough, if you are local and able to. It’s a great opportunity to get to know each other, and to gain confidence and comfort in front of the camera if you’re a bit camera-shy. We can spend this time exploring a new spot, visiting a favorite location of yours, or grabbing a cup of coffee and going for a walk. Whatever’s comfortable for you and reflective of you as a couple.
8. How do you accept payment?
I can accept personal or bank check, Visa, MasterCard and Venmo!
9. Are you insured?
Yes, and if your venue requires proof of insurance, I will be happy to provide that for you.
10. Do you have backup cameras/gear?
Oh, yes! When photographing solo, I will always have at least 2 cameras with me, 2 flashes and plenty of batteries. When photographing with a second photographer, a third camera is always on hand.
